S.T.O.P. Biking
S.T.O.P. (Smart Technology Optimized for Protection) Biking is an intelligent safety system designed to prevent collisions through automated bicycle braking. Using a LiDAR sensor for real-time object detection, the bike continually measures distance and time-to-impact, triggering a high-torque servo to brake when a crash risk is detected. A handlebar-mounted display provides live speed, distance, and alerts so the rider always knows what the system is doing. With a modular hardware design, regenerative battery support, and fully tested braking algorithms, the project demonstrates how smart technology can make cycling safer and more accessible for everyday riders.
